چکیده

Methods We included 139 patients undergoing CMR and right heart catheterization within 2 days (n=151 test pairs) for the evaluation of known or suspected pulmonary hypertension. Right ventricular end-systolic volume index (ESVI) and stroke volume index (SVI) were obtained, respectively, from cardiac cine images and phasecontrast of the pulmonary artery after adjusting for body surface area. Right heart catheterization provided mean pulmonary artery pressure (mPAP) as a surrogate of right ventricular end-systolic pressure, pulmonary capillary wedge pressure (PCWP), and pulmonary vascular resistance index (PVRI). Ea was calculated as (mPAPPCWP)/SVI; and Emax as PAP/ESVI.

Evaluation of Advanced Echocardiographic Parameters of Right Ventricular in Patients with Pulmonary Hypertension

Background and Objective: Pulmonary hypertension is an increase in blood pressure of the pulmonary artery which leads to right ventricular dysfunction. Therefore, the present study aimed to compare echocardiographic parameters in the study of right ventricular failure in patients with pulmonary hypertension. Materials and Methods: In the present descriptive cross-sectional study, data were col...

The Relationship Between the Right Ventricle and its Load in Pulmonary Hypertension.

In pulmonary hypertension, the right ventricle adapts to the increasing vascular load by enhancing contractility ("coupling") to maintain flow. Ventriculoarterial coupling implies that stroke volume changes little while preserving ventricular efficiency. Ultimately, a phase develops where ventricular dilation occurs in an attempt to limit the reduction in stroke volume, with uncoupling and incr...

The role of cardiac magnetic resonance imaging in the assessment of right ventricular function in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension

Background Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (CMR) is the gold standard technique for the assessment of right ventricular (RV) function. There is, however, scarce data on its use in the assessment of patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). The aim of our study is to reveal the potential value of CMR in the evaluation of RV dysfunction as expressed by the pulmonary and the tricuspid annula...

The Correlation between Left and Right Ventricular Ejection Fractions in Patients with Ischemic Heart Disease, Documented by Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Introduction: The correlation between right and left ventricular ejection fractions (RVEF and LVEF, respectively) has been studied in only a small number of patients with a marked decrease in RVEF and LVEF. The aim of the present study was to compare LVEF and RVEF in patients with ischemic heart disease. RVEF and LVEF were measured by Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR) imaging. Materials a...

Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension: Use of Delayed Contrast-Enhanced Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance in Risk Assessment

BACKGROUND Pulmonary arterial hypertension is a severe and progressive disease. Its early diagnosis is the greatest clinical challenge. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the presence and extension of the delayed myocardial contrast-enhanced cardiovascular magnetic resonance, as well as to verify if the percentage of the myocardial fibrosis mass is a severity predictor. METHODS Cross-sectional study wit...
